Saturday, May 19, 2012
The Inner East Melbourne Medicare Local (IEMML) is an independent not-for-profit network of Primary Health Care providers who aim to promote and deliver optimal continuing patient care to a population of over 600,000 residents in Melbourne's eastern suburbs.
Supporting general practice and other primary healthcare service providers, IEMML is proud to be one of the first Victorian organisations to successfully convert to a Medicare Local. We deliver services and support to GPs and practices alongside a range of service to other primary healthcare providers, with the overall goal of building a stronger primary healthcare sector in the municipalities of Manningham, Boroondara, Whitehorse and Monash.
eHealth Support Officer - Three positions available
We have an exciting new opportunity for three IT-savvy eHealth Support Officers to join our friendly team full time basis for a fixed term contract through to 30 December 2012.
We've been selected as one of three eHealth Lead Implementation Sites in Australia by the federal government to develop the foundations of the Personally Controlled Electronic Health Record (PCEHR) system. The project will provide a solution for healthcare providers that enables them to upload summary health information to a local data repository that is accessible by other authorised healthcare providers.
You'll play a pivotal role in rolling out this innovative new system across healthcare providers in Melbourne's east. Your particular focus will be on supporting a range of organisations to prepare their business to become eHealth ready
.
More specifically your responsibilities will include:
Contributing to the identification of strategies to engage organisations in the National PCEHR System.
Assisting organisations with the installation of hardware and software directly related to patient recruitment and access to the National PCEHR System.
Running proprietary software for the purposes of bulk data matching and mail merge on site at GP practices.
Assisting with the development of stakeholder training materials, and providing training sessions to organisation staff.
Participating in software testing activities.
We're looking for energetic team players who have qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a relevant health field, and a specific interest in the primary care sector.
Given the IT-based nature of this project, you'll need to have solid IT skills, including competence using MS Office and Windows Explorer (including the search functions), basic understanding of how a network works, and the ability to set up a computer and attach additional hardware.
