What's New ? Recent updates to the MBS Flipchart The Department of Health released an updated version of the MBS Flipchart in December. The new flipchart includes: • new items relevant to Victorian primary healthcare agencies • changes to existing items • and revised rebate amounts. Healthy Start for School Initiative This new initiative commenced on the 1st July 2011 and is targeted at four year old children to ensure they are fit, healthy and ready to start school. Under this initiative, children will be required to undergo a health assessment, in general practice this can be done as a Healthy Kids Check. New Medicare Initiative - Better Start for Children with Disability - July 2011 This initiative will deliver services on a similar basis to the Helping Children with Autism program. Item number 139 has been introduced to allow for an assessment, diagnosis and development of a treatment and management plan for children with an eligible disability.
